Ralph Lauren and Lexus presented the 27th Annual ELLE Women in Hollywood Celebration at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 19, 2021, in Los Angeles, California. Eight remarkable women were honored for their creative and cultural contributions to the worlds of music, film, television, and beyond.
The honorees in attendance at the event were Gal Gadot, Jennifer Hudson, Rita Moreno, and Halle Berry. The cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film, “ETERNALS,” were the remaining four honorees, including Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and Lauren Ridloff. Unfortunately, these women were celebrated in spirit and not in attendance due to a Covid-19 exposure shared via an announcement by ELLE Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia.
“Welcome to the 27th annual Women In Hollywood,” she started. “I am so deeply grateful to be with you tonight in person…However, the reality of the world we are now living in requires new rules. As you may have heard, the cast of Eternals, who we are honoring here tonight, was just exposed [to COVID], and to keep everyone safe those superheroes are now in super- isolation. Sorry, but that is the new reality.”
Eva Longoria served as host for the 27th Annual ELLE Women in Hollywood Celebration. In addition, Patty Jenkins, Debbie Allen, Kerry Washington, Lena Waithe, Jon M. Chu, Demi Moore, and Nyle DiMarco presented to Gadot, Hudson, Moreno, Berry, Chan, Jolie, and Ridloff, respectively. All of the honorees are featured on individual covers of ELLE’s November 2021 Women in Hollywood issue on newsstands on November 9.
