“And the Oscar goes to…” Nominees for the 98th OSCARS® were recently announced and the culturally electrifying and most grossing film of the year, SINNERS received a historic 16 nominations. The previous record of 14 was shared by All about Eve (1950), Titanic (1997) and La La Land (2016).
In the acting categories, 11 individuals are first-time nominees (Rose Byrne, Jacob Elordi, Elle Fanning, Michael B. Jordan, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Wagner Moura, Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgård and Teyana Taylor). Four are previous acting winners which include Benicio Del Toro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Emma Stone.
The 98th OSCARS® will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC, streamed live on Hulu and airs live in more than 200 territories worldwide.
