Beyoncé was presented the Fashion Icon award by CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg. Before Diane von Furstenberg announced the Fashion Icon recipient, she described the honoree as a risk taker, rule maker and a rule breaker. These are truly profound words that depict the woman we’ve watched grow through the years.
As you listen to Beyonce’ accept her award, you feel the emotion of how she is forever grateful for her family’s fashion heritage and upbringing. Just by looking at the faces of her husband, daughter and mother you know they are extremely proud of the woman that stands before them. The sentiment between mother (Tina Knowles) and daughter (Beyonce’) made me get a little emotional too.
Every child dreams of making their parents proud and desires to show them their gratitude. Beyonce’ is no exception. She slays inside and out with humbleness. We salute you Bey and congratulations.
