In case you missed it, the Knowles-Carter University class is in session and dropping all types of valuable nuggets to help you enter the next phase of your life successfully. As a Virgo woman, I am extremely proud to congratulate Beyoncé Knowles-Carter for writing, producing, and directing the phenomenal film, HOMECOMING, which was released via the Netflix streaming platform on April 16, 2019. The movie featured a behind-the-scenes look at her groundbreaking 2018 Coachella headlining performances. Also, a HOMECOMING live album surprisingly came forth listing 40 tracks for our listening pleasure.
Although I did not attend a Historically Black College, my roots run deep in the vicinity of graduating from a majority African American high school that is well known in the HBCU community. And as a product of the high school marching band dance team, we performed on numerous occasions with college bands such as Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern University. Many of my high school peers went on to graduate and attend HBCU schools across the state and beyond.
HOMECOMING brought back a bit of nostalgia for me and I love it. The pure genius of Beyoncé using her platform to honor women and the African American experience resounded loudly in the form of a unique presentation. Only a true Queen B can handle a production of this magnitude.
We got schooled profoundly on how to bounce back from the treacherous trials of motherhood after giving birth. And for anyone who doesn’t believe that a woman loses part of herself after pregnancy, they have no clue what it feels like crawling back to the existence of who you are as an individual human being, physically and emotionally.
A remarkable lesson was shown through the power of asserting yourself to capture a vision that only you may understand at the moment. Going with your gut, and fighting for creative artistry that captures nuances precisely is critical. Watching Beyoncé talk to her crew while hubby Jay-Z sat quietly beside her was huge. Jay-Z respects the genius in his wife to allow her to be great.
And the keen detail of providing three sound stages so the dancers, band members, and costume designers could work uninterrupted as a defined group, spoke volumes to the rhythmic organization in place. The value of making sure your team members have sufficient time and space they need to produce work effectively is monumental from an entrepreneur perspective.
Beyoncé represented for her Alumni of fans and the Beyhive that support her work 24 hours a day 7 days a week. She made sure that when it was all said and done everyone would walk away with an experience, unlike anything they’ve ever seen from a concert performance. African American men and women were proud to see our culture being magnified so beautifully and bright among the multicultural attendees at Coachella and for those watching around the world.
People came together to celebrate the rebirth of a woman that has endured the weight of being a mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and a gifted woman. There are so many useful learning tools we can retain from this documentary to help us conquer the difficulties we face in life while celebrating our hard work and tenacity.
Thank you, Beyoncé for teaching us how a world-class production is constructed from beginning to end, and how we should financially increase our net worth through wise negotiations. Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter gave us a crash course into her dynamic world and visually described how we can graduate to the next level of excellence. And because of this HOMECOMING honors course, it is now time to take what we’ve learned as inspiration to move closer towards our destiny.
