Tension between Justin Talbot (Michael Ealy) and Mary Jane mounted as she presented an edgy story that didn’t resonate with her colleagues. Thankfully, she trusted her gut and pursued the journalistic approach of hearing the perspective of a male prerogative that is often misunderstood. And yes, the angle of a working single mom not being qualified to handle the ups and downs of a demanding career, raised its vulnerable head for Kara (Lisa Vidal) in episode four. Isn’t it funny how someone will try to pick out an obvious weakness but if given the same hand, they probably wouldn’t be able to walk a mile in your shoes?
Things also became interesting between Mary Jane and her boyfriend Lee Truitt (Chiké Okonkwo) in the sense that he is “different” from all the other men she has dated. As so is life, when we embark upon goodness and truth it is foreign to us. Meaning, how can something so wholesome fit into our equation of a distorted reality? I concur with Kara (Lisa Vidal) when she states that Mary Jane has a glow and happiness light about her for the first time in a long time. Hopefully the fate of real love will work in her favor.
