West Coast rapper and entrepreneur YG, donated $150,000 to the Girl Code LA program founded by Dez White. As a method to encourage women to feel less intimidated by the science of computer coding, Girl Code LA was built to impact the community and beyond. In a Billboard.com article YG states, “With my donation, I hope they’ll be able to expand their reach of future female coders and programmers. I want to make sure I’m doing my part, I got a daughter and I respect the G Code.”
