Glitter&Gumbo sends our love and condolences to the family of Rapper, Father, and Friend Earl “DMX” Simmons, who passed away on Friday, March 9, 2021 after suffering a heart attack.
DMX was more than a rapper; he touched many lives worldwide with his music, prayers, and genuine love to strangers he met along the way.
Despite the struggles he may have endured in his past, we celebrate Earl’s openness and vulnerability to capture the hearts of fans with his real-life stories through song and lyrics.
There will never be another Earl “DMX” Simmons, and we thank God for allowing him to spread his light among the world.
The family will announce memorial and funeral plans this week and information will be updated accordingly when available.
Update: Saturday, April 17th- According to TMZ, Manager of DMX, Steve Rifkind, notified TMZ last night that changes were made to transition from a public memorial to a 10% limited capacity service at the Barclays Center for family and friends only (COVID-19 Restrictions). The service will be available via livestream for the public.
A private ceremony will be held at a church on the following day, Sunday April 25.
