HOUSTON ROCKETS END SERIES WITH LOSS AGAINST THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS

My family and friends asked, “Are You watching the Rockets game?” I emphatically replied, “No!” All it took was 7 minutes in the first quarter for me to conclude that this wasn’t going to end well. There was no attack or determination in their spirits on that court, which also led me to believe that an L was in our near future.

To be perfectly clear, I have been a true and honest Rockets fan for many years. However, I would be dishonest if I did not share my true feelings about this travesty of a game against the San Antonio Spurs. We all have the right to celebrate when our team wins and closely evaluate the losses with heart and good intentions. In other words, a real friend will check-you when you’re out-of-order and tonight, the Rockets were all over the place doing nothing.

It is also unfair for me to place the total blame on the entire team. There is an apparent leader who forgot to show up tonight. He was on the court but evidently his mind was somewhere else. Who am I referring to? You guessed it! James Harden.

Something is definitely wrong behind the scenes and I know this within my gut. The James Harden we saw out there at the Toyota Center did not look like himself. It’s like he wasn’t even trying. I cannot accept this as his norm. Something is seriously going on and it needs to be addressed. Therefore all I can do is seriously pray for him.

Of course their is a rumor that this game was fixed for the Spurs to win and take the series. Somehow if this were true, the Rockets would at least make it appear to be a close game. It wouldn’t look like a circus.

This isn’t the first time James Harden relinquished his leadership role during the playoffs. However, this year it sunk to an all-time low. There were nuisances throughout the series that spoke negative vibes, which ultimately led up to the demise of our team.

For example, during game four, when Nene reached down to help James Harden up from the floor and he refused Nene’s help, that was a warning sign. You should never be that angry that you don’t want a helping hand from your teammate.

Another example is during game five when all of the Spurs kept stripping the ball from Harden’s hands, as if it were like taking candy from a baby. There was no unity or an attempt to pass the ball around to other teammates.

And finally tonight is no exception. The replay tapes are absolutely atrocious. There is no fight in Harden’s eyes. He literally gave up! When the leader gives up what do you think the team will do? Get frustrated and give up too.
Overall, I know something is wrong with James Harden and he needs some serious prayer.

There is no way I can accept this loss as just another domino that fell down. Our team lost its heart and it’s important for all them to find it and bring it back to the City of Houston.
Until then, I’m still a Houston Rockets fan who is willing to ride it out and wait on my team to get it together. Rather sooner than later.
