Additional performers included Lenny Kravitz in a very special tribute performance to Prince, Alicia Keys, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Indigo Girls, and others.

Artists are eligible for Rock & Roll HOF inclusion 25 years after the release of their first recording. The Inductees are chosen by an international voting body of more than 800 members, including living inductees (the largest block), historians and members of the music industry, as well as the aggregate results of the Rock Hall’s online fan vote.

Fans can visit a special exhibit dedicated to this year’s inductees at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

A reel-to-reel master recording of “Dear Mama,” the first single from Tupac Shakur’s third studio album Me Against the World. The song pays tribute to Shakur’s mother Afeni, a political activist and member of the Black Panther party. The emotional homage reached Number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
