The 2019 NFL Draft kicked off Thursday, April 25 – Saturday, April 27 in Nashville as clubs made their rookie picks for rounds 1-7 to build a successful contender for a future Super Bowl champion dream. Here are a few highlights and photos from the draft to help begin the NFL 100 Years Centennial celebration year.
No. 1 Pick
Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray was selected by the Arizona Cardinals as the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. A historic fact states this is the second time in the common-draft era that a school has produced the No. 1 pick in consecutive NFL drafts, with Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 draft.
Josh Allen & Son
With the No. 7 pick the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Kentucky’s Defensive End Josh Allen. Josh brought his adorable 1-year-old son Wesley on stage to celebrate his entry into the NFL.
Too Hype For Words
Standing at 6’3 and weighing 315 lbs Clemson’s Defensive Tackle Christian Wilkins greeted NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell with a shoulder bump unlike any other he’s ever seen. The Miami Dolphins selected Christian as the No. 13 pick. We’re all looking forward to watching his fiery personality light up the Dolphins defense.
Taylor Swift Drops New Music Video
Nashville, Tennessee is the birthplace where 14-year-old Taylor Swift began her career in country music. Therefore it was befitting for her to use this NFL Draft media opportunity to introduce the April 26 midnight release of her new music video “ME!” before her new album is revealed.
