Our greatest purpose in life is most fulfilled when we are giving our time and resources to help others in the community and beyond. Legendary rapper, actor, and philanthropist, LL COOL J, returned to his hometown of Queens, New York to host the closing ceremony of his 15th Annual Jump & Ball Community Camp.
Launched in 2005, Jump & Ball is a free and fun-filled camp that is held every Saturday and Sunday during the month of August benefitting the youth of Southeast Queens. This unique camp supports more than 200 youth that reside in the neighborhood where LL COOL J grew up. The program was developed as an opportunity for the kids in the community to learn the game of basketball while impacting their minds with team building and leadership skills for their future off the court. The interconnected beauty of literacy, music, and art are also strong initiatives that LL COOL J is passionate about as he continues the work towards in building the heart of his community.
Free food, music curation, haircuts, and a special performance by the Harlem Globetrotters made this event worthwhile for the kids. View photos from the event below.
