Some say love is a powerful drug when taken as a prescription to heal a wounded heart. Co-creator of Ozark, writer, and director Mark Williams, knocks this new thriller, Honest Thief, out of the park as Liam Neeson, Kate Walsh, Jeffrey Donovan, Jai Courtney, and Anthony Ramos give clarifying roles in a suspenseful film.

Honest Thief is one of the most outstanding examples of how an oxymoron comes to life. Tom Carter (Liam Neeson) showcases the heart as an undeniable conscience when you love someone. Typically when you watch a thriller, the idea of love rarely encapsulates your mind; however, Annie (Kate Walsh) brings warmth to this story that is quite endearing.

The idea of a crooked cop getting away with murder makes you root for the so-called “Bad Guy” with a whole new appreciation. Officer Nivens (Jai Courtney) will have you seething with anger as his partner Agent Hall (Anthony Ramos) is a helpless soul lost in a dark abyss. You might halfway feel sorry for Agent Hall acting as a co-conspirator in a foolish game.

Overall, the quiet demeanor of Tom Carter (Liam Neeson) as he devises the most eloquent plans to catch a crook other than himself is so satisfying. Honest Thief is a good film that will take you on an adventurous ride. I enjoyed it.
