Exclusive Review: Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4

Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 premieres on Prime Video worldwide on November 9, and it has evolved into a coveted fashion experience that highlights Rihanna’s vision for her lingerie brand.

Glitter&Gumbo received an exclusive first look at the fourth annual fashion show event that has wholeheartedly embraced the inclusivity of all races, genders, and body types. It is always refreshing to see the creativity and personality flow from the dancers, models, and production working behind the scenes to execute a show of this magnitude for audiences.

Opening with FX animation plus a 2D/3D segment and intermingling this artistic concept throughout the show provides a futuristic intake of the progressive journey this fashion experience will capture for viewers. Additionally, Rihanna’s natural hair vibes create a beautiful aesthetic for a poppin’ intro.

A blend of Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae/Afro Beats, and Latin music seamlessly flows with the choreography as musical artists Anitta, Burna Boy, Maxwell, and Don Toliver bring the electric heat vibes. Maxwell oozes via the television screen with a beautiful rendition of “Whenever, Wherever, Whatever” to set the tone for a nice and slow transitional flow to visual rest. Equally interesting is a seductive and interpretive dance feature involving the mashup of Janet Jackson’s iconic classics. This scene offers a color hue moment with a blend of acrobatic moves that will have you questioning your own workout routine in the gym. You’ll be thinking, “Am I that flexible?”

The star-studded fashion cast features Sheryl Lee Ralph, Marsai Martin, Rickey Thompson, Taraji P. Henson, Kornbread, and more. In addition, actors Simu Liu and Winston Duke look hot and bring the heat that makes my heart flutter. Although some may greet Johnny Depp’s feature in the show with a major side eye, his stroll to the hip hop duo OutKast’s song “So Fresh, So Clean” didn’t really provide a wow factor, but Johnny looked comfortable on screen.

The model who steals the show for me is the one and only actress Taylour Paige. Thoroughly enjoyed the scene, moment, and delivery Taylour brings, which is reminiscent of a similar vocal montage she voiced on rapper Kendrick Lamar’s latest album. Taylor’s set will wake you with fiery confidence and remind you to always walk away like a boss.

The Pop Smoke tribute is also an attention-grabbing scene, and kudos to the choreographer for bringing this musical homage to life. And last but not least, the dancers snapped when they moved cohesively by connecting hair braids to the Ying Yang Twins. The urge to get up and dance may overtake you.

Watch Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 when it streams exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories beginning November 9. In addition, the latest Savage X Fenty collection will be available to shop in the Amazon Fashion Store and at Savage X Fenty.
