Geto Boys’ Rapper “Bushwick Bill” Loses His Battle Against Pancreatic Cancer

We are saddened to report that legendary rapper Richard “Bushwick Bill” Shaw most known for being a part of the historic Houston rap group, Geto Boys, has passed away at the age of 52-years old.

Suffering with a battle of pancreatic cancer, Bushwick Bill’s family and publicist confirmed that he passed away peacefully on June 9 at 9:37 pm surrounded by loved ones.

Fans mourn the loss of Richard Shaw who was born in Kingston, Jamaica and made a charismatic name for himself as the one-eyed dwarf statured group member of the Geto Boys. Notable songs that catapulted his career include “Mind Playing Tricks On Me” and ” Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta” to name a few.

In an interview with Houston’s Fox 26 News reporter Isaiah Carey, Bushwick Bill discussed his anguish with people judging his appearance as a human being. Bushwick also shared that after learning about his diagnosis he desired to create music as a means to provide for his family upon his descent.

With slick lines and a personality that was loving and down to earth, “Bushwick Bill” will forever be a Houston, Texas Icon and we are grateful for his life and artistry.
