Houston, We Have Hope: Top QB Draft Prospects Visit Texans

I don’t know about you, but my prayers were answered when Tony Romo made the decision to retire and go into broadcasting. This news made my heart glad because I know the Texans deserve far more and greater in a prospect QB. No shade to Tony Romo; it is, what it is.

Now that the door is wide open for us to choose a quality player, it is only right and fair for the Texans to take a good look at the best of the best in QBs. An NFL news source reported that Texas Tech’s QB Patrick Mahomes (pictured left) and Clemson’s QB Deshaun Watson (pictured right) will visit with the Texans this week. This is fantastic news. Read more from the source here.

Yes, the Houston Texans have the 25th pick in the first round of the draft. And yes, I know you’re probably thinking, “There’s no way we’ll land a top QB that low in the first round!”

Need I remind you, I have hope. What is hope? Webster’s Dictionary defines hope as a desire with expectation of obtainment or fulfillment.  Why do I have hope? The Texans organization will not waste their time in reviewing a player if they’re not interested. At this point in time, anything is possible. I’m expecting a miracle to happen on draft night that will shock the world in a good way.

I remember very distinctly in the 2014 NFL Draft when QB Teddy Bridgewater was waiting patiently for us to scoop him up at the 33rd pick, and Minnesota snuck in for the steal by selecting Teddy at the 32nd pick. My feelings were hurt that year. We were so close. It was devastating.

Now, the Texans have a chance to be wise and smart with their first round selection and possibly trade up to get our guy. Therefore I repeat, anything is possible and I believe the Texans are going to do what needs to be done to make our roster completely elite. Go Texans!
