HOUSTONIAN NATALIE ROMERO INJURED IN CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA

Natalie Romero is a 20-year-old former Bellaire High School student, and University of Virginia sophomore, who believes in supporting equality for all human beings with peaceful methods.

On Saturday, August 12, 2017 Natalie stood with counter-protesters at a rally in Charlottesville, VA to support the removal of a confederate monument. Also in attendance at the rally were white nationalists and alt-right groups that displayed their hatred and dislike of the monument removal in the form of violence.

James Alex Fields, who is included with the alt-right and white nationalists group, deliberately drove his car into a crowd of counter-protesters where Natalie was gathered. 19 people are injured and one victim, Heather Heyer, died from this man's domestic terror attack.

Natalie's mother, Ericka Chaves learned that her daughter suffered a fractured skull and other injuries from this crash. Natalie is presently in the hospital in Charlottesville, VA and hopes to return back to Houston soon. If you would like to help Natalie and give a donation to assist in her hospital expenses you may support Natalie's family via their GoFundMe account here.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families, and our country during this troubling time.
