NRG Center is now open for Hurricane Harvey evacuees.

The Houston Toyota Center is now available as a shelter however, you must REGISTER at the George R. Brown Convention Center first.

Bishop T.D. Jakes Writes – From the moment that the waters of Tropical Storm Harvey overtook the city of Houston, T.D. Jakes’ philanthropic army of staff and volunteers called MegaCARE sprang into action mobilizing much needed supplies to those trapped under the water’s unrelenting grip.

At present there are more than 5,000 beds in Dallas lying empty awaiting evacuees who are still unable to transverse the 242 miles that separate the two Texas towns. As long as there is a need, The Potter’s House stands ready with open arms and open doors to support those in need.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has officially declared the George R. Brown Convention Center as a shelter for flood victims in need.

Update: Pets are now allowed inside the GRB and the Houston Bureau of Animal Rescue and Care (BARC) will assist residents with their pets if needed. Food and sleeping cots will be provided and volunteers are welcome to donate their time to help flood victims as they maneuver around the convention center.

Hightower High School is NOT a shelter. Marshall High School in Fort Bend ISD is a shelter available at 1220 Buffalo Run, Missouri City, Texas 77489.
