“Kandi & The Gang” Sneak Peek Review

Okay, y’all, Glitter&Gumbo received a sneak peek of the new Bravo series featuring The Real Housewives of Atlanta star and business mogul Kandi Burruss. Viewers will see all the shenanigans that come along with Kandi owning multiple Atlanta restaurant ventures with her husband Todd Tucker, including the OLG Gang eatery brand.

So many people have commented via social media about their negative experiences at the OLG Gang restaurant that it is not hard to miss. And now, we will better understand why patrons of the OLG Gang felt slighted and somehow disrespected by the service they were offered due to the employees that have multiple personalities, which overshadow the restaurant business practices.

As some of you may know, my goal is to provide a glimpse and not a tell-all review so viewers can watch the series and come to a conclusion of their own findings as well. So here are my top three a-ha moments after reviewing the first episode of “Kandi & The Gang” premiering on Sunday, March 6 at 9:00pm ET/PT on Bravo.

Kandi Is Loyal To A Fault

Kandi is a businesswoman who knows how to get deals signed, sealed, and delivered. As the OLG bartender, Dominque, states, “We are inspired and aspire to revel in her greatness.” One particular notion that Kandi will admit is she is intensely loyal to the employees that have been with her through the trenches of running this OLG Gang restaurant. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this loyalty is ruining the business and not allowing the restaurant to flourish to higher heights.

Phillip Got Time Today

Most will agree that the OLG Gang restaurant needs discipline and order because you can feel the chaos and disarray oozing through the screen. So Kandi and Todd have hired Phillip Frempong to help whip the employees into shape. However, his approach is off-putting to those who don’t enjoy being told what to do by their boss. And the hostess with the most attitude is who Aunt Bertha calls “Shawn-Drilla” better known by her birth name Shawndreca Robinson. When Phillip tells Shawndreca, “This is what I don’t tolerate. I don’t go back and forth with hourly employees I employ to do a job with a certain level of professionalism.” I hollered and clutched my pearls. And if Aunt Bertha isn’t too fond of you, that says a lot on its own.

The Old Lady Gang Will Always Keep It 100

Every time Aunt Nora, Aunt Bertha, and Kandi’s mother, Mama Joyce Jones, gets together on camera, you know they will say whatever is on their minds keeping it 100 at all times. Aunt Bertha is a hoot, and she doesn’t play games. So I’m certainly looking forward to the scene in which the OLG sisters get fired up over a disagreement with family.

About The Series: “Kandi & The Gang” chronicles Kandi, Todd and OLG’s dynamic staff as they face a much-needed change at the restaurant while juggling their career ambitions, larger-than-life personalities and personallives. After being hit with a myriad of obstacles, Kandi and Todd step in with a plan to turn the tide. With tensions rising as family members don’t perform up to standards, a little tough love and a lot of restructuring will shake things up with the staff, whether they’re ready for it or not.
