In the Pot Sports

NCAA Final Four Dribble Fueled by Powerade

After I previously shared all of the wonderful Final Four activities in a previous post, I couldn’t believe that this mom ?? (me), forgot to register her child for the Final Four Dribble.

Although I wanted to panic when I clicked on the registration link and it stated, “sold out” ?? I didn’t give up. I contacted a rep for the event and he explained onsite registration is allowed on a first come first serve basis. Therefore I went into mommy mode and began planning/believing for our entry.

Registration began at 10:00 a.m. in front of Houston City Hall, and we were there at 9:00 a.m. to wait in line. Thankfully for us, the onsite registration line wasn’t too long and we had time for a potty break too. The volunteers were awesome and guided us along the way.

After registration we received a blue band for Fan Fest entry, and a gold band to signify our waiver agreement. Everything was absolutely free! Look at all of the goodies my little one received below.

Free Items: T-shirt, clear bag, headband, Wilson basketball, Powerade (we drank it all) and free Fan Fest entry.

The Final Four Dribble started promptly at 12:00 p.m. and Houston mayor Sylvester Turner counted down to start the dribblers. Children big and small bounced their newly inflated balls from City Hall to the front of the George R. Brown Convention Center (approximately one mile stretch). The weather was awesome!

Once we reached the finish line ? we were then escorted into the Fan Fest to begin our fabulous festivities.

This is my first time participating in the NCAA Final Four weekend and I’m glad I could share this moment with my son. Inside of the Fan Fest I loved how a variety of sports games were available for kids to try. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and if given the opportunity we will do it again.

Final Four 2017 will be held April 1 and 3 in Glendale, Arizona. Please don’t hesitate to participate in these kid friendly activities if you live near Arizona. View more pictures below from the Houston event. Enjoy!
