New Music: Stonebwoy “Tuff Seed”

Ghanaian afrobeats and reggae/dancehall star, Stonebwoy, dropped his follow up single “Tuff Seed” which is a hot track in my opinion. I’m loving the uplifting message and flavor this music delivers to my ears.

“Tuff Seed” comes on the heels of dropping his first single, “Shuga,” to his fourth studio album, due out next year, which features dancehall legend himself, Beenie Man a.k.a The Doctah. In only a few months, “Shuga” has garnered over 1.6M streams and 1.7M YouTube views. At a career height, Stonebwoy delivers tunes that feed the soul all while effortlessly merging afrobeats, dancehall, and reggae culture. Priding himself on uniting his people through his music, Stonebwoy is intentional about highlighting the similarities not only between Ghana and Jamaica but the entire diaspora.

Stonebwoy promotes peace, love, and unity in all that he does. This can be seen in “Tuff Seed” as he dedicates the song to everyone facing struggles and reminds his listeners, we are all tough seeds that can’t be dug up. This was also seen when he became the first Ghanaian to perform at renowned Jamaican music festival, Reggae Sumfest, last summer and when he organized the largest peace concert in Ghana, Ashaiman to the World in 2018.
