Correct me if I’m wrong, but we have yet to experience an all-female group Verzuz battle, and it’s about time to have one. Although I am forever grateful for the Verzuz R&B male group experience via 112 and Jagged Edge despite their technical difficulties, the women got next.
If you are unaware of what a Verzuz battle is, it is a music appreciation phenomenon created by music gurus Swizz Beats and Timbaland that was birthed in the pandemic. The Verzuz platform has allowed a lot of African-American music artists the opportunity to reach new audiences and show love to fans that have sustained them through loyalty over the years.
If you missed it, the ladies of the 90’s girl group Xscape received a surprise visit from Lelee of the 90’s group SWV (Sisters With Voices) in the studio. The consensus concluded with everyone being on board to make the Verzuz battle between these powerhouse groups happen. Now we shall wait on the paperwork and agreement between all parties, including determining if the Verzuz team is in agreement. Therefore, I hope to see all of these women light up our lives with singing and harmonies that are unmatched.
