“Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 13 Premiere Review

Glitter&Gumbo just watched a sneak peek of the Season 13 premiere of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” airing Sunday, December 6 at 8PM ET/PT on Bravo. Titty City, Porsha Luther King, and “Do You Want A Marriage Or A Wedding?” create the beginning elements for what we can initially expect and more from the ladies this season.

During episode one, Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Porsha Williams, Kenya Moore, and an appearance from Marlo Hampton set up the inevitable backdrop for how these Atlanta housewives must continue on with their lives during a pandemic.

Porsha Williams gives us an inside look at how she utilizes her platform to help bring change to our broken judicial system. It is also refreshing to see the fight for justice for Breonna Taylor being brought to light for the Bravo community and fans to witness firsthand. Marlo Hampton’s reference to this young civil rights legacy leader as “Porsha Luther King” is something only Marlo would say out loud.

Many questions, rumors, and facts have been swirling around the entertainment/gossip atmosphere lately, and we now have an opportunity to partially find out what went down with the “Stripper Incident” at Cynthia Bailey’s Bachelorette Party. Bravo is always catching the tea, juice, and Hennessy being spilled.

And many people, including myself, were trying to figure out why photos of Cynthia’s wedding in Atlanta displayed unsafe guidelines when we should be operating in small pods for event functions during a pandemic. Cynthia’s husband, Mike Hill, will totally confirm why his question of, “Do you want a marriage or a wedding?” brings forth his desire to be safe with 50 people in attendance versus 250. Therefore Mike didn’t want all of that. This is totally a Cynthia decision.

Kenya Moore definitely appears to be dealing with a lot on her plate, including weight gain, as she battles with the decision to divorce her husband of three years, Marc Daly. My heart goes out to her as we see the thread unraveling from this problematic and controlling marriage.

Kandi Burruss is ever glowing as she thrives with her numerous businesses, life with Todd and her children, and Riley’s transition to college mixed with adulthood. We also get another glimpse into how Kandi desires Riley’s father to step up and pay child support. We all know that situations can get ugly and hurtful. My heart goes out to Riley for having to deal with this publicly and making the decision of, “It is what it is…” in regards to her father.

Overall, I look forward to seeing how the new housewives, Drew Sidora and Latoya Ali, intermingle with the group and who gets hazed with hella shade first. Of course, I will be watching as the entire season comes forth because there is a lot of meat on this bone, and the plate is full.
