Sneak Peek Alert: RHOP Season 6 Episode 1 Outlook

The season 6 premiere of the Real Housewives of Potomac returns on Sunday, July 11 at 8PM ET/PT on Bravo. After a fiery season five reunion that had everyone talking about former cast member Monique Samuels’ abrupt exit, many fans anticipate what the OGs and new castmates will bring to a table in the jungle filled with shade for days.

This season Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Candiace Dillard Bassett, and Dr. Wendy Osefo will return to continue leading the franchise in an interesting direction. One significant a-ha moment occurs when Dr. Wen-day, a pronunciation Gizelle likes to utilize jokingly, reveals two new friends for a show opening celebratory event. During the RHOP break, Dr. Wendy became more outspoken with her wardrobe and photography collection, eluding this new transformation that makes sense now.

Karen Huger is admittedly one of my favorite housewives to watch because she is old school and seems unbothered by the brutal attacks against her marriage, friendships, and businesses. Karen will always give a read mixed with some Hennessy of shade to give a docile effect.

Robyn Dixon appears to be suffering from a slight onset of depression. Her body language and facial expressions during episode 1 depict a sadness that makes my heartache for her. The relationship she and Juan share will either go up or nowhere, given the conditions of not setting a date for their pending marriage.

Newcomer Mia Thornton appears to add a little spice that will either stir the pot or settle the ingredients brewing all along. Of course, the shade gets thrown her way at the first meeting with the ladies, but she handles it well. I’m not sure if Mia gives them the benefit of the doubt before she bounces back with a roar or allows the ladies to come for her as she builds a defense for her next move in the group.

Now that Monique is no longer in the RHOP mix, if any arguments occur between the ladies that result in a physical fiasco, we must examine the foundation of what already exists and ask ourselves who is the common denominator.

And finally, I sincerely want Gizelle to move on from Pastor Jamal Bryant and continue to co-parent for the sanctity of the children. Walk away pure in heart, knowing you attempted to give it one last try and see it for what it is.

Robyn’s friend Askale Davis, whom I’m sure we will see later on in the season, is a bubbly, fashionable mother of three with a proud Ethiopian heritage.

New Housewife Mia Thornton:

Mia Thornton joins the ladies of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” this season. She is a woman who marches to the beat of her own drum as an entrepreneur, franchise owner, and regional developer. Mia is a graduate of Southeastern Institute, where she received her degree in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy. After graduation, Mia launched her career in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a Clinic Director that eventually led to a five-year partnership with a prominent Fortune 500 company and ownership of Massage Envy Spas. Soon afterward, the expanded success of the company allowed her to develop the Joint Chiropractic Doctor Offices in North Carolina, Virginia, DC, Maryland, and New York. Mia currently resides in Maryland with her husband, Gordon Thornton, of 9 years, and three children, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Juliana. Her philanthropic passion has led her and Gordon to serve on the board and sponsor families of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. She is also a proud sponsor of A Better World, UNCF, Autism Speaks, and A Child’s Place.
