Super Bowl LI/ Microsoft Custom Cleat Design Competition

Are you an artist waiting for the opportunity to showcase your design skills to the world? Would you like to design a pair of cleats for an AFC & NFC championship player to wear during the Super Bowl LI pre-game? If you answered yes to both questions I have an amazing opportunity for you!

Super Bowl LI and Microsoft are giving fans the opportunity to make an impact on the field with a Custom Cleat Design Competition. New England Patriots cornerback and Super Bowl XLIX champion, Malcolm Butler and Atlanta Falcons running back, Devonta Freeman will wear customized design cleats during their pre-game warmups prior to the big game.

Cleat designs will be created by fans at Microsoft’s NFLX location from Saturday, January 28 to Tuesday, January 31 using Sketchable, a feature-rich drawing app, on Microsoft’s new Surface Studio and Surface Hub devices. Fans will be allowed to take advantage of the creative elements and design tools available through Microsoft technology to potentially play a part in cleats worn on the field before the Super Bowl LI game begins.

Butler and Freeman will choose their favorite designs, and world renowned cleat artist Marcus Rivero will be creating the cleats live at the Microsoft space at NFLX on Thursday, February 2 from 3-4pm and 5-8pm. The cleats will be fully completed by early morning on Friday, February 3 in time for Sunday’s warmup.
