#ThatsNotLoveTour HOSTED BY RADIO PERSONALITY JILLIAN “JJ” SIMMONS & JAY BARNETT FOCUSES ON TEEN RELATIONSHIPS

Valentine’s Day is February 14th and there is no greater gift you can give a young adult than a great opportunity to learn the true meaning of love. With so much technology, music, culture, and slang to confuse a new generation of curious minds, it is imperative that we have mentors that can provide a “No Judgement Zone” for teens to talk freely. Learn more about this free event below and share with a young adult.

Former NFL player and author, Jay Barnett and media personality, Jillian “JJ” Simmons are hosting the #ThatsNotLoveTour to educate young adults on increasingly dangerous relationship behaviors. “Because I love you” is a simple phrase that can take on a different meaning in an unhealthy relationship; escalating from a statement of care to one of control. In fact, 1 in 3 adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner.

The tour kicked off in Houston on January 25th at local high schools. Additional stops include various high schools and universities in Texas and Las Vegas.

#ThatsNotLoveTour is an extension of the #ThatsNotLove campaign created by the One Love Foundation, whose goals is to shine a light on unhealthy or emotionally abusive relationship behaviors—or the gray area between love and control. Jay and JJ are passionate about fulfilling this mission and are dedicated to taking action. ” The relationship you have with yourself will determine the relationship you have with others. My goal is to change the perspective on how young people view relationships and encourage them to develop a healthy relationship with themselves first,” says Jay!

Jay and JJ guide students through activities and discussions focused on solutions for real-life issues young people face today like depression, mental health, sexting/communication, and bullying, among other important topics. These tools help them to better recognize “control statements” from partners as mind games meant to diminish their power and confidence. Instead, it is the education of positive affection and attention in relationships that help students understand when boundaries are crossed or if there is abuse being allowed. The goal is to pour into these groups with an important message of healthy and unhealthy relationship signs.

#ThatsNotLoveTour is proud of the support from the community, and thank sponsors: B&B Entertainment, Cricket Wireless, and Kasidy’s Kloset.
