LadyLike Foundation founder Leah Pump presented the 11th Annual LadyLike Foundation Women of Excellence Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on the afternoon of Saturday, May 11, 2019. This year’s event highlighted women in the community who are creating a phenomenal path of excellence in their occupation and philanthropy work. The 2019 honorees include Storm Reid, Marjorie Harvey, Carrie O’dell, and Jordin Sparks.
As a nonprofit organization, the LadyLike Foundation strives to educate, empower and inspire young girls living in underprivileged communities around the Greater Los Angeles area. The annual fundraiser also provided 10 college scholarships for young women desiring to further their education.
One touching moment that moved the audience involved a story of how scholarship recipient Aromni Gumbs arrived at the event via LA Metro and her experience in the foster care system. After Aromni’s moving speech 2019 LadyLike Honoree, Marjorie Harvey, made a vow that she and her husband Steve Harvey will fund all four years of Aromni’s college education. A complimentary ride home was also provided as the icing on the cake.
