March 25, 2017 – The 5th Annual Taste of Louisiana Festival was held at the Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas. If you’ve never been to New Orleans or Louisiana, this fun family event gave you a tour and culture experience unlike any other in Texas.
Thank The weather was nice and warm as participants gathered to hear the sounds of some amazing musicians, eat authentic Louisiana cuisine, and peruse the unique product vendors at the event. The kids also had an opportunity to experience some bite size fun in a special Kid Zone area made just for them too.
There were so many food selections such as crawfish, gumbo, jambalaya, wings, tacos, Po’ Boys, beignets, pralines, and much more. I would like to thank the Fontenot family for allowing me to take a peak into their Gumbo pot ?. Our thirst palette didn’t go unnoticed as attendees walked around with jugs or tins of their favorite lemonade or specialty drink.
The main attraction that had me in a trance was the music. OMG! It was at that moment that I forgot all about being in Sugar Land, Texas. As I made my way to the sound stage I heard the sounds of The Zydeco Dots, The Golden Eagles, and the High Steppers Brass Band featuring The Who Dat Steppers. They were all phenomenal and the DJ played some of my favorites in between the band sets. It was great to see people young and old forgetting all about their troubles and dancing to the music. It was a party y’all??.
Being that this was my first time attending this festival in the Houston area, I will be back and I will encourage others to join me next year. Good times were had by all. View a video below of my overall experience and enjoy.
