Eugene Goodman’s Heroic Acknowledgement

On January 6, 2021, Capitol Officer Eugene Goodman stood firm on his oath to protect those he served by steering domestic terrorists away from the Senate floor. Video footage taken by journalist Igor Bobic shows how Eugene confronted an angry mob that unlawfully entered Congress intending to harm and seek revenge on democracy. As Eugene used his skills to guide the mob upstairs to meet other officers, a diversion allowed lives to be saved. As an acknowledgement for his fantastic work, Vice President Kamala Harris requested newly promoted House Deputy Sergeant of Arms, Eugene Goodman to escort her at today’s inaugural ceremony.
