Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation: “Now, We Transform”

The inspirational fight for justice will not occur overnight or in a week, month, or a year’s timeframe. Equality for all shall render a marathon approach. This modern-day walk or sprint towards justice requires physical and mental strength to combat the roots of systemic racism that have held our country’s fibers for centuries. Our ancestors indeed led the way, and it is up to us to continue their unwavering effort.

Many are asking, “How may I help?” With so many avenues available that are big and small, it is my goal to provide opportunities and methods towards progress that will make the least of us feel that our labor is not in vain.

The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation has released “Now, We Transform, ” a powerful call-to-action visual created to embrace the need for change and race equality for black lives worldwide. All are encouraged to use their voice for good by texting 24365 or visiting www.BlackLivesMatter.com for more information on how to get involved.

“After the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd in close succession, the world has finally said enough is enough. Now we must honor their sacrifice and ensure this never happens again. This moment of collective acceptance of the systemic, institutional, and individual racism Black people face every day around the world, must be galvanized into collective action. Black Lives Matter Global Network is committed to providing tools and resources to people all around the world as we continue to fight in defense of Black people” said Kailee Scales, Managing Director of Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation.

Watch the impactful visual featuring Harriet Tubman, Fannie Lou Hamer, Ella Fitzgerald, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Angela Davis, and Marsha P. Johnson below.

About #BlackLivesMatter

#BlackLivesMatter was founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. We support all Black lives including the Black queer and transgender communities, the disabled, the undocumented, those with records, women, and those all along the gender spectrum. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives.
