“Amazing!” That is what the tall gentleman standing next to me said, as he appeared to be engrossed in the voices and sounds of a Sugar Symphony. And yes, oh how amazingly sweet it is.
If you don’t know by now, Chloe and Halle Bailey are the dynamic sister duo signed to Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment record label. Sugar Symphony is their new EP that is filled with unique harmonies and a genre style that will take you on a musical journey. Just listening to their angelic voices alone with no instrumentation tells you they are a group to be reckoned with.
I had the esteemed honor of receiving a complimentary ticket to watch Chloe x Halle perform at the House of Blues Houston and I was thrilled. As the opening act for the incomparable Andra Day, these lovely young ladies provided a delectable appetizer before the main course. Some of my favorite performances from the night are, “Fall”, “Drop” and “Thunder” to name a few.
What I thoroughly enjoyed most was watching their light and energy shine from within as they shared their passion for music. While Halle is adorably demure, Chloe gives me an energetic turn-up vibe that is absolutely contagious. I love how their personalities are different and yet complement each other so well. A sisterly moment was watching Chloe adjust the microphone for Halle as she effortlessly played the guitar. Sweet.
Ironically as I was driving on my way to the venue I pondered on the fact that I rarely get to see Chloe x Halle dance. To my surprise we were gifted with a special dance number as they closed their set. Loved it! Again I repeat, “Amazing!”
If you ever have the opportunity to see Chloe x Halle perform you will not be disappointed. For a minute I forgot where I was and fell deep into their trance. The ladies made a statement saying, “Our main goal is to have you thinking about us when you leave, because we’ll be thinking about you.” I can honestly say their mission is accomplished and I look forward to thinking more about Chloe x Halle in the future.
