Comedian Kenan Thompson is expanding his comedic empire as he ventures into the lead fatherly role of scripted television in his new series, “KENAN, ” premiering Tuesday, February 16th on NBC 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.

“KENAN” follows Kenan Williams’s life as a recently widowed host of Atlanta’s #2-morning show, “Wake Up with Kenan!” As Kenan tries to move on, his father-in-law, Rick, and brother, Gary, along with his co-workers, all have strong opinions on the best way to live his life.

After reviewing the pilot episode, it is evident that Kenan is a natural when he rests in the pockets of his humor and slowly gains ground to capture his character’s dramatic elements. Two young queens named Dani Lane and Dannah Lane portray Kenan’s young daughters, and they are an adorable match that fit the aesthetic of the show. Dani and Dannah are real-life sisters that are one year apart in age. Therefore their chemistry on camera is effortless.

Kenan’s free-spirited brother, Gary, is none other than Chris Redd, who is hilariously annoying in the right way. Chris delivers the magical moments that had me snickering at the best moments. Of course, with their familiarity of working together as colleagues on the legendary sketch comedy television show Saturday Night Live, Kenan and Chris will always light up the stage with their wit and comedic timing.

Also appearing as the cast on the show are Kimrie Lewis as Kenan’s career-driven executive producer, Mika Caldwell, and Don Johnson as Kenan’s eccentric, stylish father-in-law, Rick. “Kenan” is a cute series that families should enjoy watching together that celebrates diversity on the television screen.

Be sure to watch the premiere episode of ‘KENAN’ on Tuesday, February 16th, on NBC at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
