Officer Eugene Goodman Awarded A Congressional Gold Medal

In a surprise ending to the day of questioning in the 2nd Impeachment Trial of Donald Trump, Capitol Officer Eugene Goodman has received the highest honor he so rightly deserves.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer opened a request to vote on a resolution to award Capitol officer Eugene Goodman a congressional gold medal.

Officer Eugene Goodman was sitting in attendance within the Senate Chamber as he received a standing ovation for his heroic effort. All Capitol Officers who worked to protect our government on January 6, 2021, received acknowledgment for their effort as well.

During the 2nd Impeachment Trial, a security video not shown to the public displays Officer Goodman rushing Senator Mitt Romney to safety, which ultimately saved his life on the insurrection day. The public also witnessed Officer Goodman confronting an angry racist mob as he diverted them away from the government officials in harm’s way.

Bravo and congratulations, Eugene!
