Houston’s own Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and husband Jay-Z provided a celebration of a lifetime for night one of their On The Run II Tour in Houston, Texas. This insanely gifted power couple helps us all to realize that growing older only gets better with time.
If you’re at the age in life where going to a club is no longer the desired choice of quality entertainment, scheduling a visit with the Carters will give you all the feels of an authentic house party. You’ll meet new friends that will eventually turn into family, as you belt out hits that span almost two decades.
On The Run II, infused cinematic storytelling with imagery of Jay-Z and Beyoncé experiencing life through their eyes. A videography collage reflecting the ups, downs, firecrackers, and baptismal floods between this couple showered concertgoers with music such as “Holy Grail,” “Dirt Off Your Shoulders,” “Nice,” “Big Pimpin,” and a mash-up of songs “Clique + Diva” had everyone in Houston on their feet bobbing to the rhythmic beat.
Beyoncé gave a beautiful rendition of the song “Resentment,” from the 2006 B’Day album, in a gorgeous custom gown that flowed effortlessly down the runway. When she walked out in a divine two piece shimmering pink suit and an orange fringe body piece it gave me life of sparkle right before my loving eyes. Jay-Z was also mesmerized by the love H-Town gave during the 2-hour set performances, that he had to pay respect to our bigger than the size of Texas energy that radiated among 70,000 fans.
Overall I learned that we should all strive to evolve and be a testament to the physical and mental growth that has occurred in our lives. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have certainly grown throughout the years, and their undying love speaks volumes to those who ever felt like giving up.
No matter the obstacles these two may endure they will always find a way back to each other in love. Being married with children doesn’t mean life gets any easier, however, you can continue to live out your dreams and raise a family successfully at the same time.
This experience is more than a concert, it’s a walk down memory lane and a glimpse into the future of what’s to come if we protect and use our freedom with style and grace.
Congratulations to Jay-Z and Beyoncé on the success of this sold-out tour. I look forward to seeing your new developments in life. Thank you to the Parkwood Entertainment team for having me. Blessings on blessings.
