First, let me say this, the Real Housewives franchise on Bravo TV is a reality series that will come for the jugular of your existence if you agree to participate in the show. So the idea and premise that women should be seen in a positive light and not misrepresented in a tarnishing manner is not the proper foundation of this show’s brand.

There will be times when women are positively uplifted to higher heights and/or dragged on the ground physically or verbally according to the environment’s intent. It is what it is; pure entertainment mixed with drama and a whole lot of sass. You reap what you sow, and if you dish it out, you better take it when it comes back to you.

This season the Real Housewives of Potomac had a never-ending theme of dragging the altercation between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard as a bullying tactic. As a Black woman, when someone enters your personal space zone with a raised voice and hand movement, that is a prerequisite for a double TT syndrome (a word I created) consequence. Meaning, you never know the Triggers and Trauma one has endured that will enable them to go off and/or give a beat down because you made a choice to awaken a sleeping giant.

Of course, I would’ve loved Monique to walk away from Candiace’s provoking behavior; however, the ladies decided to throw them bows. Therefore Candiace cried foul, pressed charges, and this entire season became another hot mess. If you are not a frequent watcher of the RHOP, I encourage you to watch the BRAVO app’s series to catch up and prepare for part 2 of the reunion airing Sunday, December 20th.

Unfortunately, this season, Gizelle’s love life unfolded in a disheartening manner as she attempted to rekindle her relationship with her ex-husband/Pastor Jamal Bryant of New Birth Church in Atlanta. Other than the altercation occurring, I was quite surprised about how Gizelle Bryant treated Monique with unforgiveness throughout the entire season and refused to show grace. As a former First Lady, it would have been on the brand to sit down and listen to Monique’s story without judgment and taking sides for whose right or wrong. Both ladies were wrong for their actions and needed love to heal their deep wounds.

Now, most of us know that Gizelle is a gossiping mess starter, and honey, you indeed reap what you sow. If you watched Part 1 of the Reunion Special, Monique brought out a receipt book/binder that punched below the belt and had the entire cast, including Bravo host Andy, in pure shock. There’s more to this story, and after watching Gizelle sit in anguish, I actually felt sorry for her. She appeared miserable and quite embarrassed.

Hopefully, if the ladies learn nothing else this season, they know Monique is NOT the one to play with.
