The 2019 WACO Wearable Art Gala Premieres Tuesday, June 11 On The Oprah Winfrey Network

The third annual WACO (Where Art Can Occur) Wearable Art Gala was held June 1 and Emmy Award winning actress and comedienne Tiffany Haddish served as the evening’s host, to celebrate art and raise funds for the nonprofit WACO Theater Center. For 2019 the theme, “A Journey to the Pride Lands” reigned supreme as Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and more highlighted the eloquence of African tradition in their selection of apparel.

Co-artistic directors Tina Knowles Lawson and Richard Lawson are the visionary founders of this unique event that showcases the creativity of guests designing their own attire each year to match the gala’s theme. This year’s gala also gave tribute to Disney’s upcoming live action film, “The Lion King” which features the voice of global superstar and daughter of Tina Knowles Lawson, Beyonce Knowles-Carter that will premiere in theaters July 19, 2019.

On Tuesday, June 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT the Oprah Winfrey Network will air a primetime behind-the-scenes special for all to enjoy as we take an exclusive look inside the 2019 Wearable Art Gala.
