We are in the midst of the NBA Playoffs, and the Houston Rockets are attempting to blast off into space as the 2018 NBA Champions. Although this will not be an easy task, some Houston fans may be a little skeptical to put all of their faith in a team that hasn’t won a championship since 1995.
Despite the naysayers and doubters, Houston has proven that ”Running As One” is the key to their ultimate success. Houston, we finally have a cohesive team and the problems are few.
Gerald Green is a ray of beaming light who is prone to shine his goodness towards opponents. When Green is hitting those three pointers with ease, the crowd goes wild and his Southern charm mixed with a little swag lights up the court. Green, a Houston native, is back home and living the dream of playing for his hometown. Winning an NBA championship would be the sweetest thing.
Chris Paul refuses to settle and therefore expressed his sentiment of wanting more for his career, via his ESPN documentary series CHAPTER 3. During free agency Paul embarked upon a journey to leave the Los Angeles Clippers and join a team that would give him a better chance at a Championship. Basketball is more than a paycheck for him. It’s how he breathes and this sport gives him life. Timing and following your gut will prove to be the defining factor for Paul, who is working his way to the NBA Finals.
James Harden remembers all too well the taste of defeat as he has lead the Houston Rockets to numerous Playoff contentions through the years. This year, there appears to be a shift of some sort in Harden’s spirit as he is upbeat, happy, and allowing his humorous side to show on the court. Could it be that he is finally ready to declare with confidence that the MVP title belongs on his back? Harden is finally the leader of this team and he is willing to step up so this franchise can earn its rightful place in history again as NBA Champions.
