The Texans Fairytale
Post Game Response

Okay, I needed a minute to collect my thoughts. Actually, I wanted to go under the covers and hide after that game. Hide from the fact that the San Diego Chargers outsmarted us and beat us fair and square.

In the previous post I stated Phillip Rivers is a well- trained and experienced quarterback. Boy was I telling the truth. He showed out yesterday. Do you want to know who didn’t show up to the game? The Texans. The defense and offense I was expecting to see on Sunday looked at me and said, “Girl Bye!”

Right now it feels as if we are playing in a fairytale and the title of our book is Cinderella. The Texans are portraying the role of a stepsister. You know, the one that never really finds their true “Prince” that will carry them to victory. It sucks. No really, this is painful and brings back old wounds.

Can you guess who will eventually play the role of Cinderella in our state book? Probably the Dallas Cowboys. And once again we’ll be standing on the outside looking inward as they ride off into the sunset. (Insert tears)

Am I still a Houston Texans fan? Yes, and I will always represent for my home team. However if I can be totally honest, I am starting to like Dak Prescott (Dallas QB) and his fairytale story. He was once considered an ugly duckling of the NFL (4th Round Pick) and now he has blossomed into a beautiful swan 1st Round status.

Dak seems to be so humble and that is why I am growing fond of him. Plus he is an underdog and I always root for the forgotten slept on players.

Although I won’t be cheering for the “Cowboys” as a whole, I will be cheering for Rayne Dakota Prescott. Crazy as it sounds, I’m not a bitter fan. I give respect when it is due and he has earned it.

For anyone who is thinking, “You shouldn’t be so sad and talk about your team like that!” Well, when you love someone they should be willing to hear the good and bad within a relationship. If I always say you’re awesome but never check you when you’re wrong, what kind of friend or family member would I be?

The type you shouldn’t hang around or want in your life are the ones that will let you fall and hurt yourself. They’ll say, “I love those bruises; they look good on you.” Instead of saying, “You shouldn’t have walked into that ditch! Next time go in another direction so you can be safe and take this bandaid.” That my friends, is what I call true love.

Is the season over? No. However we don’t seem to match up at this point with the true contenders and it’s beginning to scare me. If they can win on out from here and switch character roles with the Cowboys, that will be an epic comeback. I love my Texans and I pray that one day they will all get on one accord. Amen.
