YOU CAN’T COME TO MY CELEBRATION PARTY: WHITE HOUSE EDITION

Regardless of our political views or standpoints, we should always treat each other with dignity and respect. Showing love towards one another and not disseminating hate is the America Martin Luther King, Jr. and many other Civil Rights leaders fought and died for.

It was recently announced that President Donald Trump has withdrawn his invitation for the Philadelphia Eagles to attend the championship celebration at the White House. In a statement released by the Press Secretary, the disagreement in political views of kneeling vs. standing during the National Anthem sealed the President’s disapproval deal.

A majority of the players feel their attendance would jeopardize their stance on fighting for equality of all races. Disrespecting the flag is not the root and cause for these protests although it’s been stated numerous times.

Therefore I decided to do a little digging and find some articles in which this decision has some historic value. Click the links below to read and learn about other players who refused to visit the White House. Plus, you can review another invitation withdrawn by Donald Trump and one team that is still waiting for their announcement below.
