A HOUSTON BUSINESS OWNER AND LOCAL PASTOR FIND SOLACE IN HURRICANE HARVEY’S DESTRUCTION

September 3, 2017, is declared by President Donald Trump as a National Day of Prayer for Hurricane Harvey victims. Americans across the U.S. were encouraged to visit their place of worship, or say a prayer during the day to honor those affected by this horrific storm.

Undoubtedly, there are many Houston businesses and churches that are unable to operate as normal due to the devastating effects of this Hurricane.

Heaven on Earth owner, Tamara Vogt, is an event goddess that specializes in providing unique and memorable moments for her clients. At this time, she is still coming to terms with the damage visibly displayed on her 37,000 acre historical venue. 10 upcoming wedding receptions were cancelled because of the inoperative state of her flourishing business.

Bishop Tammy Dobbins, Pastor of New Covenant Full Gospel Baptist Church, was utilizing Heaven on Earth’s “Little Chapel” as a venue to regularly hold Wednesday bible study and Sunday church services. Earlier this week she, along with church members, received the heartbreaking news from Tamara Vogt that their worship center became damaged as well.

As a means to bring about hope during a time of helplessness, Bishop Tammy Dobbins did not allow this misfortune to stop her regularly scheduled Sunday service from being held.

Members gathered this morning outside, across from the church building to give thanks unto God, pray for themselves, and other Hurricane Harvey victims. Formal chairs from the wedding chapel were used as seating, so that parishioners could hear a resounding message and song to uplift their spirits.

Business owner, Tamara Vogt, attended the service and thanked Pastor Dobbins for her encouraging words. Leaning on one another during difficult times reminds us that no one should endure this emotional hardship alone.

Although it may take several weeks for the “Little Chapel” to be repaired and return to its formal state, Bishop Dobbins will continue to be led by God as she searches to find a temporary service building.
